Toon Aerts had essentially confirmed his win in the X2O Trofee but today he put a final dig into Eli Iserbyt
With just 3 minutes of racing Aerts made the winning gap as he distanced his rivals over the technical sections. He started the race in front and stayed there the whole way, as Laurens Sweeck put on an early chase.
The Pauwels Sauzen riders ended up having a very bad day with Michael Vanthourenhout the best finisher in 5th, Laurens Sweeck finished the last place in the Top10 and Eli Iserbyt a distant 15th.
Niels Vandeputte was the rider who stood out from the rest of the field as he went out to finish a surprising second place, as Lars van der Haar beat Tom Meeusen in a photofinish sprint for third place.
