Quinn Simmons attacks on the last kilometer and takes stage 3 of Vuelta a San Juan

Quinn Simmons took stage 3 of Vuelta a San Juan. The American rider from Trek-Segafredo made a late attack on the racetrack in Villicum securing the win for the team.
A very flat stage until the approach to the Autodrómo de Villicum circuit, when the riders got some gentle climbs. It started with a breakaway of 7 riders from local teams. Eventually, the break was fully caught withing 35 kilometers to the finish.

The riders faced again a stage with hot weather, experiencing temperatures around 36 °C degrees. The peloton controlled the stage until. the last 5 km where a Eolo-Kometa rider attacked, Simone Bevilacqua and a crash later happened. The rider was neutralized but at the last kilometer Quinn Simmons made another attack followed by Maximiliano Richeze.
Trek-Segafredo rider managed to repeat the was Zdenek Stybar won here in 2020. He took the win ahead of Maximiliano Richeze (Argentina National Team) and Sam Bennett (Bora-Hansgrohe) who was the first from the peloton.
