Dayer Quintana: "Nairo is in Europe , still waiting for the call of a team"

Despite the cycling season being well underway and rapidly approaching its fourth month, Nairo Quintana's contractual limbo persists, raising questions about his marketability and future prospects.

“At the moment, Nairo is in Europe and training hard, as always. He is in good shape and still waiting for the call of a team," his brother Dayer told La Vanguardia.

While no restrictions prevent him from joining a new team, the rider faces a challenging landscape in which few WorldTour-level teams have open spots, particularly given his positive test for tramadol and disqualification from Tour de France.

Quintana has dispelled rumours of his retirement in January, stating that he is still dedicated to competing and has no intention of giving up. "A real runner does not surrender in the face of adversity," he told while addressing the press conference to dispel rumours of his retirement two months ago.
